Bowden distances himself from O's GM rumors
'My loyalty is to Allen, Lindner, Reds'
By John Fay
The Cincinnati Enquirer
Reds general manager Jim Bowden said rumors connecting him to the GM job in Baltimore are just that rumors.
There's no truth to it, he said.
Baltimore has not asked for permission to talk to Bowden. If the Orioles do and chief operating officer John Allen grants it, would Bowden listen?
My loyalty is to John Allen, Carl Lindner and this organization, Bowden said. We're going through a difficult challenge. I'm working to get back to contending. That's all my focus right now.
Bowden has two years remaining on his contract.
