Sore elbow ends Stinnett's season
Catcher to have exploratory surgery

Kelly Stinnett's season ended Tuesday when the catcher was put on the 60-day disabled list. When he left Sunday's game, the Reds said he'd miss at least three to five games with a sore right elbow.
But he'll have exploratory surgery Friday.
We want to get a look at the nerve, team medical director Dr. Tim Kremchek said.
With the Reds out of the playoff race, Stinnett decided to have the elbow taken care of. It has troubled him much of the year and affects his throwing.
(Kremchek) said it might be best to go in there and clean it out, Stinnett said. It's the kind of thing that could flare up.
The recovery period is expected to be four to six weeks. Stinnett is the sixth Red on the 60-day DL this season.
Stinnett, 31, is signed through next season. He hit .257 with nine home runs and 25 RBI for the Reds this season.
