Young thinks he might still get traded
Bowden hopes Reds aren't done dealing
The Cincinnati Enquirer
Dmitri Young dodged one trade bullet but he thinks there's another with his name on it.
It's not the 31st yet, he said Thursday after the Reds traded outfielder Alex Ochoa.
July 31 is the non-waiver trading deadline. Though General Manager Jim Bowden said Ken Griffey Jr., rookie Adam Dunn and Young are the club's outfield now and for future, he wouldn't rule out more trades. In fact, the Reds will continue to push to get younger, cheaper and stronger.
I hope we're not (done trading), Bowden said. We're always trying to get more pitching.
Young has been the subject of trade rumors, and he might have been gone if the Reds had been able to get pitching in exchange
We tried very hard to get pitching, Bowden said.
For now, though, Bowden said he's happy where Young is.
I've always loved Dmitri Young, Bowden said. I love hitters. I think he can be a 30 (home run)/100 (RBI) guy.
