Casey should miss only a few days
MRI reveals strained tendon in left ankle
By Chris Haft
The Cincinnati Enquirer
Reds medical director Dr. Tim Kremchek predicted that first baseman Sean Casey's strained tendon in his left ankle will sideline him only briefly.
I expect him to be back in the next few days, Kremchek said after Casey underwent an MRI examination that confirmed the injury's extent. I don't think this is anything that's going to shut him down for a long period of time. It's not as bad as it appeared to be (Saturday).
Though Casey said his ankle felt sore, he walked into the clubhouse without the crutches or protective boot Kremchek issued him Saturday. Depending upon how he responds to treatment, Casey might be able to pinch-hit as early as today.
