Rijo gets AAA start Saturday
Enquirer staff, wire reports
Former Reds ace Jose Rijo's next start on the comeback trail will be for the Louisville RiverBats on Saturday at Charlotte.
Reds general manager Jim Bowden confirmed Rijo's next start would be for the Triple-A club.
Rijo, 36, is 111-87 in his major-league career. Arm problems have kept him out of baseball for almost six years.
In the past week, Rijo has had two solid three-inning starts in the minors: July 4 for Single-A Dayton (one run, three hits) and Monday for Double-A Chattanooga (one hit, three strikeouts).
