Griffey fine after 'tweaking' hamstring
By John Fay
The Cincinnati Enquirer
It was a scary moment for Reds fans. Ken Griffey Jr. went into the gap to field Todd Dunwoody's double. As he wheeled to throw, his left leg slipped.
Griffey limped toward his position in center field. At one point, he bent over in pain. But he stayed in the game.
I just tweaked it a little, he said. I'll be out six to eight ... minutes.
Griffey has been troubled by a torn left hamstring since spring training. He was on the disabled list from April 29 to June 14.
Griffey said the turf in the outfield, which had to be repaired after the 'NSync con cert, is a little soft.
It's tough because it's really sandy now, he said. But it's not that bad.
