Where: Busch Stadium, St. Louis.
Radio: WLW-AM (700).
TV: Fox Sports Network, today and Monday; Channel 19, Saturday; ESPN, Sunday.
Records: Cincinnati 20-32, fifth place NL Central; St. Louis 29-23, second place NL Central.
Probable starting pitchers:
Today, RHP Elmer Dessens (4-2, 4.66 ERA) vs. RHP Darryl Kile (7-3, 3.09)
Saturday, RHP Brian Reith (0-2, 3.38) vs. RHP Matt Morris (7-3, 2.47)
Sunday, RHP Rob Bell (0-3, 5.16) vs. LHP Mike Matthews (2-1, 2.51);
Monday, RHP Osvaldo Fernandez (5-4, 6.55) vs. RHP Andy Benes (3-3, 6.34).
The bats: Mark McGwire, who's back in the Cardinals lineup, homered once in 32 at-bats against Reds pitching last year. Jim Edmonds was 2-for-10 in last weekend's three-game series at Cinergy Field but hit .414 against Cincinnati last year.
The arms: While losing two of three to the Cardinals last week, Cincinnati didn't face Morris, who might be their best pitcher now that he has overcome the injury problems that once plagued him.
The rest: The Reds split six games at Busch Stadium last year, though two of their victories came in a meaningless season-ending series.
