Where: Cinergy Field
Radio: WLW-AM (700)
TV: Today, ESPN2; Tuesday and Wednesday, Fox Sports Network
Probable starting pitchers:
Today, RHP Rob Bell (0-3, 4.74 ERA) vs. Julian Tavarez (3-3, 3.15);
Tuesday, Osvaldo Fernandez (5-3, 5.44) vs. Jason Bere (3-2, 5.13);
Wednesday, Chris Reitsma (2-4, 4.15) vs. Jon Lieber (4-3, 2.25)
The bats: The Cubs hit .208 during an eight-game losing streak that preceded their current seven-game winning streak. That explains why Sammy Sosa (14 homers, 40 RBI, 41 walks, 36 runs, .424 on-base percentage) is the only Cub among the top 10 in any major offensive category.
The arms: Chicago pitchers held the Reds to a .116 average (10-for-86) in last week's three-game sweep.
The rest: Cincinnati was 4-2 against Chicago at Cinergy Field last year. Bell won the last of those games, pitching a complete game Sept.13.
