Reyes should rejoin Reds today

By Chris Haft
The Cincinnati Enquirer

Left-hander Dennys Reyes is expected to rejoin the Reds today after having his elbow checked by a therapist in his hometown of Higuera de Zaragoza, Mexico.

Reds medical director Dr. Tim Kremchek said Reyes recently had been bothered by tightness on the inside part of his elbow.

“It's not a big deal,” Kremchek said, adding that Reyes also went home for personal reasons, as was reported earlier.

Reyes, who hasn't pitched since May 13, is 1-2 with a 2.29 ERA and 23 strikeouts in 19 2/3 innings over 18 games.

Reyes missed Sunday's series finale against Houston. The Reds open a series today at the Chicago Cubs.
