Griffey rehabbing in pool
Center fielder Ken Griffey Jr. has been jogging in a swimming pool at his Cincinnati home every other day to supplement his recovery from a strained left hamstring.
Griffey said he devotes about 45 minutes to his pool workouts, which enable him to flex the leg without facing the resistance of a weight machine.
Griffey won't accompany the Reds on their trip to Arizona. I'll get more done here, he said. But he jokingly changed his tune when he was reminded that Phoenix's Bank One Ballpark has a swimming pool in the outfield for fans.
I could get into the pool during the game, Griffey said. I think I may have to do that.
