Robinson was in town as part of the 2001 Breaking Barriers, In Sports, In Life tour.
Using baseball as a metaphor for life, the educational program is based on the values demonstrated by Jackie Robinson during his life.
Alicia Mercer, sitting next to Robinson, won the visit via an essay contest.
Robinson will visit McKinley and Gamble schools with Dmitri Young and Pokey Reese today.
