Young challenges fans
SAN FRANCISCO Dmitri Young issued a personal challenge to a small group of rowdy fans who declined to confront him.
Young lingered outside the Reds' clubhouse after Thursday's game for the two or three fans who heckled him after he moved from left field to first base in the seventh inning. He never saw them. At Pacific Bell Park, fans seated in the lower levels can leave by walking through the same corridor that leads to the clubhouses.
I said, "Wait for me where the players come out. You know where that is,' Young said.
Young wouldn't repeat what the fans said.
This is something everybody works hard to do and these people are getting it twisted. I was just going to twist their necks, Young said, adding, I don't think Frank Robinson (baseball's disciplinary czar) is going to like those comments.
