Game report: Royals 4, Reds 2

The arms — Pete Harnisch extended his consecutive scoreless innings streak to 14 1/3 by becoming the first Red to last six innings this spring.

Then Dennys Reyes allowed four runs in the seventh, starting the trouble when he walked the leadoff batter.

The bats — Ken Griffey Jr. ripped a first-inning RBI double and has driven in runs in five of his eight games.

But the Reds mustered only three hits after the third inning as they suffered their third straight exhibition loss.

The rest — Griffey caused a scare in the sixth inning when he dove to his right for Carlos Beltran's slicing liner to left-center field.

After missing the ball, Griffey rolled over and curled up in apparent pain as manager Bob Boone and trainer Greg Lynn hustled toward him. But Griffey was merely shaken up and played the entire game.

Up next — Today against Texas, 1:05p.m. Scott Williamson will oppose Rangers left-hander Darren Oliver.
