Game report: Rangers 2, Reds 1

The arms — Chris Reitsma rebounded from his rocky start last Wednesday against Pittsburgh (three runs and four hits in 1 2/3 innings) to pitch four mostly decent innings. The right-hander's most telling mistake was a 1-0 pitch he dangled with two outs in the third inning that Ivan Rodriguez crushed for a two-run homer.

The bats — Pokey Reese interrupted a 1-for-14 skid with a pair of singles. Overall, the Reds generated no supplementary offense, failing to draw a walk as their four-game winning streak evaporated.

The rest — Cincinnati had stolen 18 bases in 19 tries before Chris Sexton was gunned down at third base on a questionable play.

Up next — Today against Tampa Bay, 1:05 p.m. Rob Bell will oppose Rays right-hander Bryan Rekar.
