        SARASOTA, Fla. — Relief ace Danny Graves said his agents plan to contact Reds management later this week about scheduling another negotiating session for a multiyear deal, though he's not expecting immediate results.

        “It's a long process sometimes, longer than you'd like,” said Graves, aware the team also has eight unsigned players and is exploring a possible contract extension for right-hander Pete Harnisch. “I'm in no rush and I'm sure they're in no rush.”

        Graves and two of his agents, Alan Nero and Scott Pucino, held preliminary talks with Reds general manager Jim Bowden and assistant GM Darrell “Doc” Rodgers last Wednesday. Though no agreement was forged, the meeting accomplished at least one thing: Nero and Pucino had never met Bowden face-to-face.
