Readers like tall wall

Our reader survey indicates Reds fans would like a Green Monster in center field in the renovated Cinergy Field.

Of 1,107 votes cast, more than 80 percent (889) prefer the entire height of the Reds' new 30-foot center-field wall be in play. Only 16 percent (174) favor painting a horizontal line at a 14-foot height and making any ball that hits above it be a home run.

Reds chief operating officer John Allen said he would have voted the same way, but the decision is still up in the air.

“We're waiting for Major League Baseball to come in,” Allen said. “What they say will weigh heavily.”
