Reds get new groundskeeper

Doug Gallant, who helped supervise Cinergy Field's conversion from artificial turf to natural grass, has been named the stadium's head groundskeeper.
Gallant, 29, undertook Cinergy's conversion as project foreman for The Motz Group, which is based in Cincinnati. He also was a project foreman for jobs at Miami's Pro Player Stadium, Atlanta's Turner Field, Los Angeles' Dodger Stadium and Columbus' Ohio Stadium. Gallant also was a member of the "sod crew for Super Bowl XXXIII and is scheduled to work next month's Super Bowl in Tampa, Fla.
Gallant graduated from Ohio State in 1994 with a degree in turfgrass management.
