Five questions with Tony
1. Who's your favorite teammate?
All of them. I love them all. Lee May was very good to me early in my career. Dave Concepcion was my roommate. Johnny Bench, Joe Morgan, Pete Rose we were all very close.
2. Without giving away too much, what will you speech at Hall of Fame be like?
I can't tell you. I'm going to work on it the next couple of days. I have a lot of people to thank.
3. You were fired after only 44 games as the Reds manager in 1993. Have you able been to get over that?
It's all behind me. The Reds gave me a chance to manage in the big leagues. I'm happy about that. I wish it lasted longer ... but I'm very happy with the Marlins.
4. What's your favorite moment, personally, from your career.
I'd pick the '67 All-Star Game. It was my first All-Star Game. I hit a home run to end it in the 15th inning. It was the longest All-Star Game. The home run in the 1975 World Series was big, too. But '67 All-Star Game was the biggest personally.
5. Have you heard from Fidel Castro? Did he congratulate you?
No. Not at all. I got a little ink in Cuba. They tell the tourist, "This is Tony's country.' But not the people.
