REDS NOTEBOOK
Bichette hotter than a briquette
By John Fay
The Cincinnati Enquirer
Dante Bichette homered for the fourth straight day Sunday after extending his hitting streak to eight games with a single.
Bichette is hitting .455 (25-for-55) over his last 13 games.
It's confidence more than anything, Bichette said. I'm relaxing and doing what I have to do.
The team record for home runs in consecutive games is five by Johnny Bench, who hit seven in five games in 1972. Chris Sabo hit home runs in four straight games in 1990.
STYNES IN LEFT: Chris Stynes, the Opening Day left fielder in 1998, started his first game in the outfield this year.
GRAVY TRAIN: Danny Graves got the win Sunday to push his record to 8-0. No Reds pitcher has started 9-0 since Mike LaCoss did in 1979. Brooks Lawrence holds the Reds record. He started the 1956 season 13-0.
ATTENDANCE UPDATE: The Reds have drawn 955,518 for 31 dates. That's an average of 30,823. That puts them pace to draw 2.49 million for the season.
