McGwire misses game for personal reasons

Mark McGwire missed Saturday's game to attend to a personal matter, disappointing the huge crowd of 46,550.
The Cardinals slugger left town but is expected back for today's game.
McGwire spoke to manager Tony La Russa and general manager Walt Jocketty and got permission to miss one game.
McGwire has missed nine games because of a sore lower back. After Friday's game, McGwire said his back felt fine.
