Blue Jays 11, Reds 4
THE ARMS: After 10 consecutive scoreless appearances that earned him a spot on the Opening Day roster, rookie reliever Hector Mercado has allowed three runs in his last two outings.
THE BATS: Dante Bichette is hitting .423 (11-for-26) in his last seven games. Benito Santiago lifted his average to .326 (15-for-46) with a pair of hits.
THE REST: The Reds are sick of playing games that don't count. Thank God we have (only) two more (exhibitions) to go, manager Jack McKeon said. Let's get home and get on with the show.
UP NEXT: Today against Triple-A Louisville at Sarasota, 1p.m. In what amounts to a glorified intrasquad game, right-handers Steve Parris and Rob Bell will tune up for the regular season.
