        • THE ARMS: Starter Steve Parris pitched 7ö strong innings. Parris allowed both runs in the first inning.

Parris allowed eight hits, no walks and allowed two runs that Griffey nearly prevented with a defensive play in the first inning.

The 10-time Gold Glove winner caught up with Bubba Trammell's drive to center, jumped and stretched for it with his back turned to home plate. The ball deflected off Griffey's glove just before he bumped into the wall, leaving Trammell with a double.

        • Scott Sullivan pitched a 1-2-3 ninth for his second save of the spring. Sullivan has not allowed a hit in his last six games. He's allowed only one run in 12ö innings overall.

        • THE BATS: The Reds came from behind for for the fourth straight time on the four-game winning streak ... Chris Stynes, playing for the injured Pokey Reese, went 3-for-4.

Dante Bichette had two hits and a RBI ... Eddie Taubensee had two hits and is hitting .349 for the spring.

        • THE REST: The Reds drew a sellout crowd of 7,467, the 10th largest in Ed Smith Stadium history. They have sold out Ed Smith six times ... Dmitri Young threw a runner out at the plate.

        • UP NEXT: The Reds play the Texas Rangers in Port Charlotte at 1:05 p.m. today. LHP Ron Villone faces RHP Esteban Loaiza ... The eight Reds starting position players are expected to start every game the rest of the spring.
