Five vie to manage construction




        Five companies are vying to be hired by Hamilton County to oversee construction of the new Reds Ballpark as project manager. The project manager will act as a liaison between the county, construction manager and architect. The county is interviewing the firms this week.

        The companies:

        • Name: Gilbane Building Co.

        Headquarters: Columbus

        Experience: Jacobs Field and Gund Arena in Cleveland; Value City Arena in Columbus; Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Fla.

        • Name: Bovis Construction Corp.

        Headquarters: Columbus

        Experience: Yankee Stadium luxury box expansion; Giants Stadium expansion; Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum renovation.

        • Name: Hammes Co.

        Headquarters: Milwaukee, Wis.

        Experience: Kohl Center, Madison, Wis.; Ford Field, Detroit; Lambeau Field redevelopment, Green Bay, Wis.; Firstar Center; Miller Park, Milwaukee.

        • Name: Vincent Ziolkowski Associates Ltd.

        Headquarters: Chicago.

        Experience: Safeco Field, Seattle, Wash.; Alltel Stadium, Jacksonville, Fla.; United Center, Chicago; Comiskey Park, Chicago; Rose Garden Arena, Portland, Ore.

        • Name: Parsons Brinckerhoff (with Megen Construction, ProjDel, Dan Pinger Public Relations and Philip Bunton).

        Headquarters: Cincinnati.

        Experience: American Airlines Arena, Miami, Fla.; Fort Washington Way reconfiguration; Boston Gardens; Metropolitan Washington Airports redevelopment.
