Opening Day sells out in hours

The Cincinnati Enquirer

The Reds failed to make the playoffs last season, but they seem to be perfecting the art of the one-day sellout.

WHERE TO BUY TICKETS
Tickets can be purchased by phone through Ticketmaster at 513-421-REDS (7337); toll-free at 1-800-829-5353; at all Ticketmaster outlets including Thriftway; or on-line at www.ticketmaster.com.
Mail orders, including $3 per order for postage and handling, should be sent to the Cincinnati Reds, P.O. Box 1970, Cincinnati, OH, 45201-1970.
The Reds, who sold out October's one-game wild-card playoff with the New York Mets in half a day, sold out Opening Day in only 31/2 hours Saturday.

Last year, Opening Day didn't sell out until March 18. That was the quickest Opening Day sellout since 1993.

Reds officials do not believe Opening Day sold out in one day ever in the '90s.

Standing-room-only tickets for the 1 p.m. April 3 game against Milwaukee are still on sale at Reds outlets.

The Reds, who finished in second place at 96-66 before losing to the Mets, open the season with a six-game homestand, with the Cubs following the Brewers into town for a three-game series.

Tickets still remain for the three-game series at Cinergy with the Indians July 7-9.

Ticket prices are $21 and $18 for blue-level box seats, $16 and $14 for green-level box seats, $13 for yellow-level box seats, $12 for red-level box seats, $11 for green-level reserved seats, $8 for red-level reserved seats and $5 for “Top Six” reserved seats.

Top Six seats are sold only on game days, unless all other seats are sold.
