Reds interested in Lewis
BY CHRIS HAFT
The Cincinnati Enquirer
Scott Boras, the agent for Reds infielder Mark Lewis, anticipated that three or four teams would express interest in the Hamilton native, who has filed for free agency. Teams can begin bidding for free agents on Friday.
Reds General Manager Jim Bowden has expressed interest in retaining Lewis, who hit .254 with six homers and 28 RBI in 88 games this year.
Lewis, 29, has played for five different teams in the last five years.
Asked if Lewis was seeking a chance to return an the everyday role, Boras said, I don't know if that opportunity is going to come. I think he's looking for a club where he can get more playing time than he had this year. But he really enjoys playing in Cincinnati.
