Pokey looks like Gold Glove winner

BY CHRIS HAFT
The Cincinnati Enquirer

It's widely expected anticipated that Reds second baseman Pokey Reese, will receive the Gold Glove for defensive excellence at his position when the National League winners are announced today.

New York Mets General Manager Steve Phillips spilled the beans when discussing his team's second baseman, Edgardo Alfonzo: “I think that Edgardo is every bit as deserving as Pokey Reese. Pokey's just got more votes ... I mean if he's the winner.”

Reese had a .991 fielding percentage.
