Reds face Indians twice in 2000
Brewers here for Opening Day

The Reds will get a double dose of the Cleveland Indians again next season.
The 2000 schedule, released Friday, has the Reds going to Jacobs Field for a weekend series June 9-11, and the Indians coming here July 7-9.
Much was made of whether the Reds should have played the Indians in two series last season. The Reds traded a home series with the Chicago White to get a home series with the Indians. This year, the Reds had no choice.
That was done with no input from the Reds at all, Reds Managing Executive John Allen said. It was a (Major League Baseball) decision.
Last season, the Indians swept three games from the Reds at Cinergy, so there was talk that if the Reds had played the White Sox instead, they may have made the playoffs instead of finishing one game short.
Allen swapped series in 1999 because the Indians are a bigger draw than the White Sox. Next season, baseball is emphasizing regional rivalries in interleague play.
They're doing the same thing with the Mets and Yankees, and the Cubs and White Sox, Allen said.
The Reds open the season Monday, April 3 with the Milwaukee Brewers at Cinergy.
In addition to the Indians, the American League's Minnesota Twins (June 2-4) and White Sox (June 5-7) will come to Cinergy.
