McKeon, Reds may work out deal

BY CHRIS HAFT
The Cincinnati Enquirer

Reds manager Jack McKeon continued discussing a contract extension Tuesday with Managing Executive John Allen, indicating the sides were progressing to an agreement.

“We're still talking,” said McKeon, who probably won't get the two-year extension he wants but might receive more than the $550,000, one-year deal the Reds originally of fered him last Friday.

“All I can say is that anytime you're talking, it's a good sign.”

McKeon refused to say whether the terms he and Allen were negotiating had changed.
