At the plate
The Montreal revolving door continues. The Expos roster is full of new players but not offensive power. They are last in the league in on-base percentage and second-last in runs scored.

The star is still Vladimir Guerrero. He's hitting .301 with 28 home runs and 89 RBI.

Rondell White (.317, 16 HR, 46 RBI) is having a decent year. Second baseman Jose Vidro is hitting .324.

On the mound
        • Today: LHP Denny Neagle (3-4, 6.06) vs. RHP Jeremy Powell (1-5, 3.51)

        • Saturday: RHP Juan Guzman (2-1, 2.05) vs. RHP Mike Thurman (5-8, 4.12)

        • Sunday: LHP Ron Villone (6-4, 4.09) vs. RHP Dustin Hermanson (5-11, 4.91).

The Expos don't have anyone who has won more than six games. The closer, Ugueth Urbina, is the pick of the staff. He is 6-4 with 28 saves and a 3.63 ERA. Opponents are hitting only .198 against him.

Outlook
This is the first meeting between the Reds and Expos this year. The Reds took eight of nine from Montreal last year.

The Expos, at 22-36, have the worst road record in the National League.
