Webcast audience wows Brennaman

The Reds broadcasts on WLW-AM (700) are going well beyond the 38 states in which you can get the station's signal. Between 3,500 and 4,000 listened to the Opening Day broadcast via the Internet, and judging from the e-mail Marty Brennaman and Joe Nuxhall are getting, those people are all over the globe.

Messages have come in from Moscow (Russia, not Ohio) and Melbourne, Australia.

Tuesday was a record night for e-mail, with 134 messages.

“It's unreal,” Brennaman said. “The overriding message we get is how wonderful it is to sit wherever they may be and listen to the Reds games. It blows my mind how small the world has become because of the Internet.”
