New uniforms draw rave reviews
BY CHRIS HAFT

Reds players sounded as enthusiastic as kids at an Easter egg hunt when they saw their newuniforms hanging in their lockers before Sunday's workout at Cinergy Field.
They were even happier once they tried on their duds, featuring the black trim on the lettering and numerals and the Mr. Red logo on the left sleeve, replacing the wishbone C.
"Sweet,' is all I can say, third baseman Aaron Boone said. You can tell they're real quality.
Said catcher Eddie Taubensee: I love the patches. It's a lot better than the "C.' It gives people more reason to buy the merchandise.
Most players dug into their lockers to scrutinize the gray road attire.
It's just all put together really well, Boone said.
Left fielder Greg Vaughn especially liked the road batting practice jerseys, which are black. I wish we could wear those in games, he said.
Newcomer Brian Johnson, an avowed sports connoisseur, was genuinely impressed.
I think they're the best, possibly, in all of baseball, the catcher said. I like the sleeveless look from what I hear, they're real comfortable to play in and I really like the black trim. I think they're really classy.
