Devil Rays 5, Reds 2

        • Reds record: 7-4

        • The arms: Non-roster rookie Scott Williamson sustained his longshot bid to claim a bullpen role, striking out two batters in his only inning. The Reds may start the season with 10 pitchers, but if they opt for an 11-man staff, the right-hander's chances will increase.

        • The bats: Cincinnati collected two hits in each of the first three innings but couldn't sustain any of the rallies. At least the youngsters who are projected as starters had good days: Sean Casey, Mike Cameron, Aaron Boone and Pokey Reese collected all but two of the Reds' hits.

        • The rest: Cameron was wiped off the bases twice, first on an attempted theft of second base and then after straying too far from second base on Barry Larkin's line drive to second that became a double play. Each time, Casey followed by singling sharply up the middle.

        • Up next: Today against Philadelphia at Sarasota, Fla. Brett Tomko will face Philadelphia's Chad Ogea, the former Cleveland Indian.
