Twins 5, Reds 2

        • Reds record: 7-3

        • The arms: Scott Sullivan pitched two perfect innings of relief, extending his scoreless streak to six innings and strengthening his hold on a setup role. John Hudek worked out of self-inflicted trouble (two walks) in the ninth inning.

        • The bats: Pokey Reese enjoyed his best offensive game of the spring with two solid singles and a sacrifice fly. Manager Jack McKeon continued to rave about Mark Sweeney, whose two hits increased his average to .500 (6-for-12). Sweeney, Aaron Boone and Michael Tucker share the team lead with 5 RBI apiece. Otherwise, only four Reds reached scoring position through eight innings.

        • The rest: Reese appeared to make a brilliant play when he tagged out Chris Latham after the Twins left fielder stole second base. Having taken a high throw, Reese seemed to give a head fake that indicated the ball had gone into center field, causing Latham to stray from the bag. But Reese said his head movement was unintentional.

        • Up next: Today at Tampa Bay. Pete Harnisch will start against Tampa Bay left-hander Tony Saunders.

        • The box score:
