REDS 4, TWINS 2

        • Reds record: 1-0.

        • The arms: Starter Pete Harnisch faced only one batter over the minimum in four innings, yielding one hit and striking out five. Scott Sullivan, winner Manuel Barrios, Scott Williamson and Danny Graves, who got the save, swelled Cincinnati's strikeout total to 11.

        • The bats: Each team collected just five hits. Mike Cameron homered and singled to lead the Reds. Pokey Reese's RBI single forged a 2-2 tie and Hal Morris had a two-run single.

        • The rest: Manager Jack McKeon's lineup (Reese, Barry Larkin, Sean Casey, Greg Vaughn, Dmitri Young, Eddie Taubensee, Cameron and Aaron Boone) looks suspiciously like the Opening Day contingent.

        • Up next: A split-squad doubleheader: Brett Tomko will oppose Texas' Rick Helling (20-7 last year) in Sarasota; Steve Parris faces Minnesota's Dan Serafini at Fort Myers.

        • The box score:
