The Texas Rangers have sent outfielder Andrew Vessel to the Reds to complete this year's Chad Mottola deal.
The Rangers put Vessel, 23, in the untouchable category during trade talks late in the 1995 season. That was the highlight of Vessel's time in the organization.
A groin injury the next spring led to Vessel playing a second season in the Class A Florida State League. He played the last two years at Class AA Tulsa, hitting .238 this season. In reporting the trade, the Dallas Morning News called Vessel "a faded prospect."
