At the plate
Braves pitchers get all the attention, but these guys can hit, too. Chipper Jones (.320, 26 HR, 83 RBI) and Andres Galarraga (.300, 33 HR, 85 RBI) are having monster years, and Javy Lopez (.291, 21 HR, 71 RBI) isn't far behind, plus you have Ryan Klesko, Michael Tucker and Andruw Jones (if he decides to play hard) to deal with.
On the mound
The Reds don't get Greg Maddux, but that's the only break. They come home from a seven-day, three-city road trip to face the Braves, who are the league's best team again. The Reds have played the Braves only twice this year, losing both games at Cinergy Field. The Reds are home for only four days. Then they go to Florida for three games, followed by their only trip to Atlanta (for three games). |
