Gary Sheffield, one of the players who came over the Mike Piazza trade, entered Sunday hitting .354 in his last 15 games. Raul Mondesi has two home runs and 18 RBI and is hitting .352 in his last 18 games. They give the Fox Dodgers a lot of pop in the middle of the lineup.

On the mound

  • Today: RHP Steve Parris (1-0, 4.05) vs. RHP Darren Dreifort (5-8, 3.73)

  • Tuesday: RHP Brett Tomko (9-6, 4.43) vs. RHP Ismael Valdes (7-9, 4.12). Outlook

The Dodgers are 12-10 since the Glenn Hoffman-Tommy Lasorda tandem took over as manager and general manager. The Reds have played well in the L.A., taking three of four this year. This will be the first meeting since the Jeff Shaw trade. The Reds still have a 10-game road winning streak.
