Winning pitcher: Steve Cooke (1-1)

Losing pitcher: Scott Sanders (0-2)

The explosion: The previously offensively-challenged Reds waited until their final game of the spring to break out the big bats, exploding for nine runs and 11 hits. Reds pitchers, meanwhile, only gave up three hits.

The inning: The big damage was done in the third, when the Reds scored five runs, their biggest inning of the spring.

The hits: Jon Nunnally had a three-run homer, his second of the spring, in the third. Reggie Sanders later had a pinch-hit two-run triple and Dmitri Young was 2-for-4 with two RBI.

Opening day: 2:05 p.m. Tuesday vs. the San Diego Padres at Cinergy Field.

Tuesday's starters: Reds' right-hander Dave Burba is scheduled to oppose Padres' righty Kevin Brown.
