  • The steal: Chris Stynes stole home as part of a double steal to push the Reds lead to 3-1.

  • The hat trick: Willie Greene went 3-for-3 with a run scored. Greene, who was given the day off Sunday to work with hitting instructor Ken Griffey, raised his spring average to .182.

  • The jinx: It was the Reds' first win over the Pirates this spring in five tries.

  • The Pete: Pete Harnisch had his best outing of the spring, allowing one run and four hits while striking out eight in six innings. Harnisch lowered his ERA to 3.54.

  • Today's game: vs. the Texas Rangers Sarasota, Fla., 1:05 p.m.

  • Today's starters: RHP Brett Tomko vs. LHP Darren Oliver.
