The washout: The first of the Reds split squad game vs. the New York Yankees was wiped out by monsoon-like rainstorm at Sarasota. The game was not only one of the biggest draws of the spring, it was supposed to be the first game on Fox Sports Ohio.
The dinger: Jon Nunnally curved one around the foul pole in right-field for solo home run in the fourth inning. The opposite-field shot was Nunnally's first of the spring. Nunnally also drove a double into the right-center field gap in the fifth.
The debut: Melvin Nieves made his debut with the Reds. He was 0-for-2 with a walk.
Today's game: vs. Boston Red Sox at Sarasota, 7:05 p.m.
