  • The hits: Chris Stynes and Willie Greene walked and scored on Reggie Sanders' two-run single in the fourth. Boone singled in the sixth and scored on a passed ball, and Jon Nunnally doubled home Eric Owens.

  • The ace: Burba didn't match his materpiece of last Thursday, but still pitched well. In six innings he allowed six hits, one run and gave up his first walk in 25 innings (90 hitters).

  • The local kids: Tigers minor leaguers Scott Sollmann and Ryan Grimmett, both Cincinnati natives, played as outfield subs. Sollmann (St. Xavier) was 0-for-1 and Grimmett (Glen Este) 0-for-1.
